Wheat has been used by everyone in food till now. Now scientists have prepared black wheat. It will be beneficial in the form of medicine as well as increasing the income of farmers. Two quintals of black wheat have been extracted from 10 Visva fields (half bigha). This wheat research has been done by National Agri Food Biotechnology Institute Nabi Mohali Punjab. After Punjab, now the cultivation of black wheat has started. The farmer will prepare this wheat crop along with the group in the district. Research was conducted by agricultural scientist Dr. Monica Garg since 2010. After this, black wheat is prepared. Therefore, this wheat is also named Nabi MG. Sowing of wheat seeds is 8 to 10 kg per bigha. The yield of wheat is 15 to 20 quintals per hectare.Organic farming should be done to get good quality, without chemical drugs. Vermi compost and WDC manure have been used in it. Black wheat has higher amount of anthocyanin than normal wheat. Pigments in normal wheat have five to 15 ppm, while black wheat has a pigment volume of 40 to 140 ppm. Anthocyanin acts as an antioxidant. It also has high zinc content.
